Social Activities

On the evening of Wednesday the 15th May participants are invited to join various social activities across Copenhagen city. The activities are free of charge for NeIC2019 participants. To attend you need to sign up for the social activity of your choice when you register for the conference. All social activities includes an informal dinner.  

To help you choose we have provided a short description of each activity. We hope you will enjoy exploring Copenhagen with us! 

Guided Segway Tour

The Segway Tour is a fun and great introduction to Copenhagen. In just 1 hour, you will experience many of the beautiful sights Copenhagen has to offer and ride through the charming streets.

Riding a Segway is intuitive and easy to learn. Everyone can join and have a blast on the Segway tour. The helmets are each equipped with a built in radio receiver. In HIFI-quality you will be able to tune in the many fun and interesting stories of Copenhagen from your local guide.

Guided Kayak Tour


Be adventurous and join the Guided Kayak tour along Christianhavn’s canals and Copenhagen Harbour. Enjoy the architectural pearls and historical buildings from the kayak whilst you glide away through the canals with the paddle in your hands. The tour takes place at a relaxed pace where there is time to enjoy the view and chat along the way.

The kayaks are sit-on-top kayaks (both single and double kayaks). They are very stable and easy to manoeuvre, and are suitable for both beginners and experienced kayakers.

Wear practical shoes or bring extra shoes as your feet might become a bit wet. Also wear practical clothes. Life jackets will be provided. And overtrousers/wet suits will also be available. The tour takes approximately 1,5 hour.

Guided Harbour Tour


Copenhagen is a historic and old harbour town. One of the best and most beautiful ways to see the maritime capital is from the water side.

Enjoy a Harbour and canal tour onboard one of the characteristic blue boats and experience the scenery and sights that you pass on the tour. The tour takes approximately 1 hour.

Guided tour of Christiansborg Palace

Pay a visit to Christiansborg Palace in the very heart of Copenhagen. The Christiansborg Palace contains the Danish Parliament (Folketinget), the Supreme Court and the Ministry of State. Also, several parts of the palace are used by the Danish monarch. This is where the queen welcomes official guests, hosts royal banquets and other events. Join the guided tour and explore the Royal Reception Rooms and the Great Hall with the impressive tapestries, which by colorful pictures show Denmark's history for more than 1000 years.

The tour takes approximately 1 hour.

Beer tasting and dinner at Nørrebro Bryghus


Nørrebro Bryghus is the fairy tale of a small local brewery that grew strong. Join the beer tasting and learn about Nørrebro Bryghus, handcrafted beers and of course the beer process.

The beer tasting will take approximately 1 hour, where you will taste four different brews. Afterwards you will enjoy a dinner in the restaurant.

Private cooking class and dinner at Timm Vladimir’s Kitchen

The Timm Vladimir’s Kitchen is ready to welcome you for a fun and unique food experience.  

A passionate cooking instructor will teach you tips and tricks in the kitchen and guide you through a four course dinner. The theme of the menu is New Nordic.

Enjoy the delicious dishes you prepare and bring home new inspiration, recipes and your own Timm Vladimir apron.
